not really, just the fact that your body needs sleep and harding is always late on putting up tech for shows...

under the sea

the last saturday of spring break (while i was at SETC in tennessee) part of our group decided we wanted to go to the aquarium. so that is just what we did. i LOVE the aquarium. i remember the first time i went, to the one in dallas, and just loved it! they had so much more there than just aquatic life, and it was just a really neat place. so i have always loved them. this trip was no exception. i to pet a sturgeon and a stingray. i got to see alot of different kinds of sea horses. there were way cool jelly fish. and my favorite part of the trip was the very last "exhibit" you went through. they had a big tank full of different kinds of fish and "ocean scenery" and the last room you went through before leaving was an area that was at the bottom and underneath this big habitat. the walls of it were rock-esk, like you were walking around in an underwater cave, and then around and even over you, you could watch the fish, etc swimming about and doing their own thing. there was soft music playing that "enhanced the viewing experience" and it was probably one of the most relaxing places i've ever been. it was wonderful. i could have sat in that area for ever and just watched and listened and be amazed at the wonder of god. the aquarium was full of creatures god made and we were paying good money to look at them. probably my two favorite things to see on this particular trip to the aquarium were the jellyfish and the poisonous frogs. the poisonous frogs just because they were so pretty, and their skin was such that it looked like it had been painted onto them. the design and color vibrancy was just amazing. the jellyfish because, being a student of anatomy and physiology, i find how the body functions and works together interesting. when looking at the jellyfish i was in awe and wonderment of the anatomical and physiological systems of the jellyfish. i mean, most living things have a brain that we think of as being very similar (besides size and ability) to our own. jellyfish however are translucent, and i didnt see anything that i would recognize as being a brain or a central "control center". and then just thinking and wondering about how that creatures systems worked i was reminded of the majesty of god and how every little mechanism in a living creature works so specifically and precisely, and i just cant understand how some people can think that all of these interactions could have come together by a "big bang" or some other explanation that leaves out a divine creator.


now, as for the rest of break and SETC (south eastern theatre conference)...it was great. i had such a fun time with everyone that went on the trip and all of the things we got to experience. most everynight we would have a "debriefing" time and bring focus and everything back to god. we would share different encounters or observations of other world views from people/companies that we would possibly(most likely) come in contact with in the "real world" and how to deal with those things as christians and professionals in the theatrical world. it was nice. friday night we met up with some people from Freed and had a devo with them which was very enjoyable.

so overall i had a very nice spring break and i hope everyone else enjoyed theirs too

going away for spring break is over rated

so, i decided to stay in searcy for spring break, and i have actually had alot of fun so far. well, thats not completely true, wednesday morning i am leaving for SETC (theater conference), so only half of my spring break is going to be in searcy, but still.
why stay in searcy you might ask. well, here are the reasons, plain and simple. at first i was going to go home and just come back tuesday so i could be here wednesday morning for setc. but then i decided that it would be very helpful for me to help work on little shop tech stuff monday and tuesday. so i was then going to go home for the weekend and come back to help monday and tuesday. THEN i was told that the Stockstills needed someone to house/dog sit for them while they were gone from sunday-wednesday AND i decided that i would do that instead. and so instead of driving home friday and then driving back saturday night or sunday morning, i would just stay here the whole time. save gas. so that is what i did.
saturday was a great day. i woke up at 10 and got all of my stuff i needed for the week packed up and moved out of the dorm. then me, mary and kris went to breakfast at sonic. then we came back to pick up amber and josh and were going to take josh to the air port in little rock. well, josh's flight didnt leave until 4:15, so we had some time to kill before we left, so we went to the park to pla since it was an absolutely gorgeous day outside! and we were there for an hour or a little more, then we started off on our road trip to little rock. mary played DJ and we jammed out the whole way. muchos fun. when we dropped josh off, kris brought up the fact that we could go visit the sullivans since they lived in little rock and we didnt want to go home yet. so i text adam and asked what he was doing and if it would be ok if we dropped by. and it was indeed ok. so we went there and watched "hot fuzz" and then some really funny brittish tv show (during both of these all three of us girls fell asleep at least once) and then it was night time and i had to go by the stockstills house still to get the details on the dogs "schedule" and whatnot, so we left and did that. then we ate at the brick oven (which was slow, but great) and then went to our separate ways home. it was what most saturday should always be like!
sunday was a pretty lazy day. i moved all my stuff into the stockstills and the four of us (mary, amber, kris, and i) made spaghetti for dinner and watched a movie.
then today i spent most of my time in the theatre shop. which was a blast as always...ok, maybe not a blast...but it wasnt so bad. ambers mom grilled us up some hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner. besides working in the shop the day was again spent with "the four" and it was much fun.

im pretty excited for tomorrow night. me, mary, and josh strickland are going to see "anything goes" at the community theatre. we arent expecting much, but we all have friends in it, so we are going. and, i think it will be entertaining at any rate.
